Find Your Hair Type Quiz
Answer six quick questions about your natural, air-dried hair — no products, no heat styling — and get your closest hair type plus a general care checklist. Free, no sign-up, and nothing leaves your browser.
What your result means
Hair type is a spectrum, and many people sit between two categories — that is normal. The result is a starting point: it mainly tells you how much moisture your hair likely needs, how often it needs washing, and how gently it should be handled. It does not say anything about how good your hair is. Every hair type can look healthy with the right habits.
If your hair changed suddenly — new texture, patches of loss, heavy shedding, or scalp pain — that is worth a dermatologist visit rather than a new shampoo. Sudden changes can have medical causes, and a quiz cannot check for them.

How accurate is this hair type quiz?
It is a general guide, not a measurement. Hair type exists on a spectrum and many people sit between categories. Use the result as a starting point for care habits, not as a label you must fit exactly.
Can hair type change over time?
Yes. Age, hormones, heat damage, chemical treatments, medication, and health changes can all shift texture over time. If your hair changes suddenly or you notice heavy shedding, a dermatologist can check for underlying causes.
What does my hair type change about care?
Mainly washing frequency, moisture needs, and how much heat or manipulation your hair tolerates. Curlier hair usually needs more moisture and gentler handling; straighter hair usually gets oily faster and may need more frequent washing.
Do I need special products for my hair type?
No. A gentle shampoo, conditioner suited to how dry your hair feels, and heat protection when you style cover most needs. This quiz does not recommend specific products — habits matter more than brands.
